Very nice! I love the look of both. Any chance you could post a couple interior pics of the white one?
I'm gathering info to redo my spyder in it's original white and considering red interior I was wondering which pieces are red and how it looks finished.

Thanks

--I second the "welcome to Mirafiori" and add my own compliments on your two very beautifully prepared cars!!

--Just curious if the "late '78" has the later 3.9 differential and the 2L tail lights?

Hi Jim:
I believe both have 3.9 diff, the white one is an early 78 model, that has an uprated 2.0 L motor, dual webers, headers, distributor less ignition. The black 124 is late 78 model, you can tell by door handles, it has a 1.8 L. I believe taillights are period correct or slightly earlier for the white 124. The most interesting thing about these 2 - 1978 models is the metal thickness between them. The white one appears to have thicker more robust metal in the subframe and floor area, assuming they have some original metal.

Has anybody who may have been able to compare, noticed metal thickness between fiat model years. Or am I wrong.

--Chris, I really like the red interior in your white Spider! Any idea where that may have been sourced? While still original style, it looks good enough to be custom!

Jim, if that's not custom I'll be shocked. Having gone both ways with my '79 spider, first interior from Bruce, and the second custom, there is no question in my mind. I even had the one from Bruce professionally installed and it didn't look this good. There's also some missing embossing that's present on the "sourced" door panels.
45 years with a spider, that's a long time
Restoring the '79 for the second time, you're never finished ;)

Hi Jim: Although I'm the proud owner of this car, I was not involved with the restoration, previous owner had the car for about 25 years and changed out the interior. I was under the impression it came from a donor car that was a factory supplied interior. But not sure, I wish I could be more helpful.

Jim,

all '78s came with a 4.3:1 rear end stock, whether it was early or late style.
