EX Peter Krause 124 Spider

Post by SimcaBertone66 » Fri Feb 03, 2017 9:33 am

My inspiration for a really fast Vintage (not SCCA Production type) 124 Spider . Turned times as fast as the fastest Spec MX 5 Mazda at Limerock Park, decimated 12 cylinder Ferrari's, driven by (balloon footed billionaire's) that Peter Krause now coaches.
Peter's Tiga Sports 2000, his current weapon of choice when not coaching the 1% ...lol

I met Peter at Summit Point years ago. His spider (one of many cars he brought) was navy blue. A really nice guy and we chatted about his car for about 15 minutes....a lot of time to devote to a spectator when you have a full stable of race cars to deal with.

Yes, Peter is a true Gentleman. Saw him a couple of years ago at Limerock during the Vintage Racing Festival, he was driving the Tiga Sports 2000, and was very fast only to be bested buy one of his clients in a Lola. He was very busy working with many 1% clients ..

--Wow, that's a very old pic of Peter's 124 Spider. That car was originally built by the Baucom's for one of their customers. Then Peter bought it and ran it in vintage for a while. That roll cage wouldn't pass muster these days. The forward braces from the main hoop have to be dropped down 6" from the top of the hoop, like you see in his Sports 2000 pic!

--I saw Peter run that 124 Spider in an SVRA race in 1999 using the runways and taxiways at Naval Air Station Oceana, in Virginia Beach, VA. They advertised it as "Race at the Base". I was a spectator at the time, but at the conclusion of the race I was hooked.... hook, line and sinker. Oh my, how time does fly?
