Rochester 2 barrel crburator

Post by SimcaBertone66 » Sun Oct 09, 2016 8:07 pm

Got tired of fiddling with twin IDF's... 500 CFM race prepped (for small block circle spec stock cars) Modified stock 1800 manifold ... stock throttle cable

This is not too much carb for the motor?

I'm sorry but a Fiat requires Weber carb either one or many! What next, a brace of SU carbs?

Ok, it's not really about the carburetor being "too much for the motor" it's about the ethnicity of the carburetor... you racist .... lol

--Nice work JD. Can't tell how you did it. Is there an adapter plate welded to the intake manifold?

Hi Jim
Yes an adapter plate was made by the gentlemen that did the work in the late 90's I only put it into play in 2012 when I put the car back on the street. [expletive], Freedman bought my twin IDF's/manifold .... the irony. I later discovered a Mercian hot rod part from "Tans-adapt" that was almost bolt on to the stock 1.8 intake, I mocked up one to make a second manifold, that had been gasket matched and also had the rectangular opening enlarged from stock. I gave it to Shaun Folkerts , along with a [expletive] of most of my heavy duty 124/TC parts stash... a "donation" to his collection, which he seems to be in the process of liquidation. Jim, it runs so well with that little duce carburetor.

I saw in a recent Brit classic car magazine that you can now get throttle bodies that replicate the DGV carb so now you can move on to basic fuel injection but keep the classic look.
