invaluable ball joint tool

Post by whitehause » Mon Jan 28, 2019 7:21 pm

So I have pickle forks, jaw clamps, pullers, still couldn't get the tie rods separated from the arms, centerlink, or pretty much anywhere without using undue force that I didn't want to put on the steering and damper boxes. Well while I'm not a fan of harbor freight.....this tool is worth every penny of 19.99. All ball joints separated in less than 10 mins with no distortion of the tool at all.

I have the harbor freight one. After years of pounding a sledge against a pickle fork these things are heavenly.

+1 on this tool. Have used it a ton, the fork side looks too flimsy, but it has always worked like a champ.

I have this as well. Used it for years. Couldn't believe this difference when I found it.
One thing I have is, deepened the channel where the bolt end part rides in with a grinder so you get a firmer purchase giving you more force and travel. Need will depend on original manufacturing variance but I think I had to order mine originally
