This Sunday, November 3rd, is possibly the best Italian Car Show west of the Rockies. If you have never been, you owe it to yourself to swing by either with your Fiat, or just come see all the Italian and French machinery that will be on display. This show attracts HUNDREDS of Fiats, Alfas, Lancias,...

I wouldn't do any of that. Your car is nearly stock, at least for one of those years.
Lots of stock 1608cc 1975 models running about?

Re: Engine fan power. 73 1608.

Zonker. I bought the thermal switch from AR and told them what engine size so know they would have sold me the correct one for this car. I don't have a laser thermometer and may pick one up to run this check. I agree the gage may not indicate the actual temperature near the switch and thus it doesn...

Re: Engine fan power. 73 1608.

What temperature fan switch is installed? Do you have a laser thermometer that you can point to the bottom of the radiator to compare temps when you suspect the fan to engage? Where is the electric fuel pump getting it's current from? The same 16 amp "A" fuse? Or the pink wire on the fuse box? I thi...

Re: 1981 FI starter problems

On my 1971 field rescue spider, I had a slow crank issue too, even with a decent battery, I come to find out the main lead coming from the starter body to the lower terminal on the solenoid was corroded enough to make a great deal of resistance. I loosened the nut and retorqued it, problem solved (u...

Lada parts interchangability?

I've always known the Lada 2101-2107 model sedan is a Fiat 124 based sedan with many interchangeable mechanical parts. Anyone have any experience fitting up any new Lada parts to old 124 Spiders? There are some ebay sellers in Ukraine and Russia that have crazy low prices for items that appear on fi...

Love the braided hose for their correct fitment, but hate the braided hose for it's clever ability to hide rotted portions.

Re: 1975 124 Spider 8 Relays?

On my '71, I ditched the voltage regulator and alternator light relay, and added a starter relay and electric fuel pump relay. The alternator I am using the Denso style mini alternator (under $50 on ebay), mounted with a '76 up smog pump bracket on the top with the stock passenger side block mount o...
