Re: Wheeler Dealers 21.1

My all time favorite Wheeler Dealer episode was Season 9, episode 1. Mike found a Fiat Dino that had been impounded for decades in Italy and drove it back across Europe and on to England. It was an amazing car with very low mileage. Edd working on the engine timing, rear suspension, interior and a b...

Re: Rear end noise

The 4.1:1 differentials were used on the 124 Coupes. The one I have is from a 71 or 72 Coupe. It's I nice compromise between the 4.3:1 and 3.9:1 rear ends. When I ran it in my 78, I found it actually made my Speedometer much more accurate. I have since gone to a new 3.9:1 differential, but have coup...

Re: Rear end noise

Jody, If you are interested, I have a used 4.3:1 and a hard to find 4.1:1 differential that would bolt into your 74. I'm not too far away in the Akron area.

Re: Upper and lower ball joints the same?

They are definitely not the same. I just replaced a set of uppers and lowers on my 82 Spider.

Re: OEM LH & RH Spider fenders and valances on Craig's List

I thought the lower valances were all the same from 75-85 and the 74 and earlier valance don't have any openings in them.

OEM LH & RH Spider fenders and valances on Craig's List

I spotted these two listings whilst perusing Craig's list. I have no affiliation with the seller: https://akroncanton.craigslist.org/pts/d/uniontown-1974-fiat-124-spider-nos-lh/6926921799.html https://akroncanton.craigslist.org/pts/d/uniontown-1974-fiat-124-spider-nos-rh/6926918781.html Located in S...

Seat bottom upholstery attachment

Hi Folks, On my 1982 Spider, how does the upholstery fabric attach to the sides and front of the bottom seat pan? It has come loose on the passenger seat bottom and I wish to properly re-attach it. I can see it had considerable contact cement applied originally. Obviously, hog rings were never used....

Re: 165HR13 / 185/70R13 Kumho Tires

Any suggestions on a set of P185/60R14 tires? There are 3 different brands of tires on the 82 that I recently acquired and they are all toast.

Re: 1975 Spider only runs with choke

I've been running a Weber oval sport cleaner on a 34ADFA carb for a number of years and really like it. It cleans up the engine bay significantly, is really easy to clean the element, allows easy access to not only the carb, but things around it and makes the engine sound more robust. As for the str...

Re: '69 Spider / '81 Engine Swap

As far as I know, your only big concern will be the added height of the 2L engine. I installed a 2L carbed engine in my 78 (original 1.8L) with the small bump hood and had no issues with the height. One trick that I did do (although I really didn't have to) was to spin the distributor cap 180 degree...
