Re: 75 spider build

It had vacuum, because i synced the carbs and set all the idle vacuum levels the same. I can put my hand over the barrel and nothing! it ran fine for 30 minutes or so. The car has not even been driven. I rechecked the valve clearances after 30 minutes run in. everything was fine. really strange!

Re: 75 spider build

back at school. In the middle of football season!

Did some work to the fiat. Here is my dilemma. Compression is the same across all 4 cylinders but cylinder 1 has no vacuum. the brake booster port is blocked off. I am going to use a bore scope to look around before I pull the head.

Re: 38mm calipers, part II revised

my 76 spider has a set of the scorpion rear calipers on it with stock front brakes. It works perfectly fine. I am going to upgrade the fronts soon to vented disc but same diameter piston calipers just different ones. 3/4" oem size master cylinder.

Re: Fiat cooling systems in general?

As we say opinions are like A..... But here is mine. Having 35 years experience with fiats I can say that I have seen my fair share. I owned exclusive fiat repair shops and worked for fiat dealers (back in the day) I also have raced fiats 124's especially. This is my take: 1. the fiat cooling system...

Re: What is your hardest car repair?

For me, the hardest repair I did was replacing the heater valve on my air-conditioned 1986 X1/9. It required removal of the heater/AC box under the console. At the time I said it was like delivering a turkey-sized baby and then putting the baby back in.... LOL, that just made me choke on my coffee!...
