Re: Why is the starter is not engaging?

Sounds a lot like the contacts in the ignition switch to me. There is a good article on how to rebuild the ignition switch in the library, and it is relatively easy to do. you might look at the white plug connector that the ignition switch wiring passes through and see how many connections are brown...

upper ball joint replacement

A simple question.....is it possible to replace the upper ball joint without removing the spring and shock? Can you support on the lower A arm enough to safely disconnect the ball joint and install the new one without everything going SPROING!!!!

thanks in advance

Fiat Wiring & Ideas for Lada vs SIPEA Ignition Switches

Recently Jeff Klein (zachmac) and i had some discussions about fiat wiring and specifically the SIPEA and Lada ignition switches and how to wire them. Jeff's thoughts with some input from me are now included in the library / All Models / Electrical titled Fiat Wiring & Ideas for Lada vs SIPEA Igniti...

Re: suspension washers, not shims

thanks all, I have a mix of washers and shims. I carefully kept them on the right bolt, cleaned them up and put the thick washer closest to the A arm, thinking the thin ones should bear against the crossmember. The shims are outboard of the thick washer. Any reasons why this is not acceptable (excep...

suspension washers, not shims

Hi All, Does anyone know if Fiat ever put washers in on the two bolts that hold the lower a arms on to minimize the need for shims? I just took my suspension apart and from what i can tell it had never been apart before and there was a stack of washers on one bolt and a shim on another. The other si...

I have access to a sandblasted with fine sand so after speaking to both powder coaters and painters I think I will gently blast them myself
Then I think powder coating ($60/ wheel).

Old MOMO rim rehab

So after a couple of years of searching i finally found two matching MOMO rims to go with the two i have. But the new pair have been painted or more likely powder coated and my two are just grey corroded aluminum. I took them to a powder coating guy and he says they need to be sandblasted. I took th...
