Re: Abarth on Bring a Trailer

Hahaha all I have to do is pay through the nose!

So simple, I love it.

I agree, the outlaw look is cool and right up my alley.

Re: Wheeler Dealers Fiat 124 spider

I should add that I tried to stitch the cover myself, but had no luck at all. Getting nice curved lines, without buckling the vinyl is not easy. I probably made three before deciding to pay the local expert.

Re: Wheeler Dealers Fiat 124 spider

I fixed my cracked dash the same way they did, but paid someone to do the fancy stitched vinyl cover. It has help up well for years, maybe 8 +/- and has no visible signs of the crack. The stitches look fantastic in my opinion. It’s a small detail that adds lots of aesthetic value.

Re: Temporary paint?

Years ago I was in the same situation Csaba is describing. Bodywork done but needed to drive it before painting. I chose black Rustoleum in the pint can and used the roller/mineral oil technique to apply it. Without the mineral oil the paint really did take a long time to cure. Sanding it off before...

Have you posted the car on Bringatrailer.com?

Sorry if this was already discussed.

Re: EDIS and/or megasquirt roll call

Caaba, I see your point. It did come programmed, but there’s no way for it to have come programmed for my car with my mods. You’re right, it was ridiculously expensive, but I chose to pay for their R&R vs learning to build up a system from scratch. In hindsight saving the cash to make the purchase p...

Re: EDIS and/or megasquirt roll call

I’ve got the VAS Megasquirt setup in mine. I kept hearing that the stock Bosch FI would keep my mods from reaching their full potential so I pulled the trigger. Even with buying the prefabricated kit the learning curve is steep... unless you enjoy tinkering with your car I’d advise against Megasquir...

Re: Allison's "Head full of snakes" header and down pipe.

They get hot, that’s for sure. But all headers get hot... Had to relocate my O2 sensor, which was only a minor issue. I say had to because after installing the header my wide band sensor put up the error of death. Since relocating it I’ve had no problems. Just to be safe I built a heat shield for my...
