Visited the VDCA event at Road Atlanta and was thrilled to see this Fiat 128 run by Shea Brown absolutely tear it on up on the track - finishing 3rd overall! Is Shea a member here?

I have been told by more than 1 racer that the out of fuel might have been sufficient to cause this failure. 10.1:1 compression and 94 octane fuel was used.
I do not know the other measurements though.

The other three pistons look perfect. The #4 cylinder bore is scratched - see here.

The temperature gauge did rise above 90 c degrees before i shut the car down, so an overheat did occur.

Here is a picture of the head gasket.

I looked at it again, and in fact looks like it is melted material that just happens to be arc shaped.

I use a gopro to capture the video. For the track telemetry, i use an old iphone (in the green pouch on the dash) and a program called Track Addict. That captures all the necessary track data.
