Re: 2019 the last year for the Fiat 500 in the U.S.

How much longer until the Spider follows? I'm here in the land of the convertible and I rarely see them (and we even have a dealer in town - tucked into a little lot as far off auto row as you can get). They actually show 9 in stock at the moment, which is more than I've seen before. But alas, only ...

Can you support on the lower A arm enough to safely disconnect the ball joint and install the new one without everything going SPROING!!!! thanks in advance Yes. No need to mess with either t...

Re: Lowering Springs, Dog Tracking, Adjustable Panhard

There's theory, and then there's practical. While installing lowering springs would theoretically change the position of the rear axle, from a practical standpoint you would have to change the height a dramatic amount to notice a perceptible change. I've lowered both of my Spiders and never noticed ...

Re: 65+ Fiats for cheap in Colorado

Of course they are parts cars, but what were you expecting for $250? Hopefully Matt Brandon is on his way with a trailer, as there are still lots of salvageable parts (or even shells to build up from scratch).

Photos (at least in part) have been posted: https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipM1a879sgYCAYmqfsy7oJSRjor7qU_YNRjiPj2YMS-v4knxEEtGEZEF35CcDOgLKw?key=VWVNdUQtcFV5bVBmOGI2WERzUEpzcEpwNU1wNmxR I see one or two (maybe/hopefully a set?) of the 14" Anniversary Edition Iron Cross wheels on an earlier Spi...

Re: OEM, OEM quality or value engineered?

I haven't been able to follow everything you've done as far as brake lines are concerned, but if it were me I'd just switch back to the stock booster and master cylinder and see what happens. I have the Pininfarina front brakes together with the 38mm rear calipers and with the standard booster/MC my...

Re: Ladder Bumpers - what was the first year?

I have a 73 Fiat Spider with the latter style tube bumpers. There is no Vin# plate . The stamp on the firewall shows the Vin# 124 BS * 0055864. The motor plate # 125BC040 0648682. I would be willing to take more pictures if that would help explain my 73 Fiat Spider 124 with the tube bumpers. Can yo...

Re: Spider DS Dash Vents

Interesting. For all the hundreds of times I've looked at the Pininfarina dashes (and contemplated from time to time fitting one to an earlier Spider I never once thought about the different routing required for those forward facing vents.

Re: Spiders for anoraks

One example is the drivers side mirror, '79 and '80 has a different base than '81 and '82, and I think most people are awaew of that. But there is also a difference between '79 and '80, something I wasn't aware of until recently. The base mounting plate and connecting screw location is different. T...
