Re: 1st post in 17 years: Advice sought

Ten years ago I sold my 71 124 Spider because I had only driven it 600 miles in the past year. 1. Do you like carbs or Fuel Injected cars? I have had both and have changed carbs and manifolds before. A lot of it depends on whether you like to tinker. I've had both, and settled on an '81 - as others...

Re: Wanted - Pininfarina Dealership Lighted Sign

I saw him posting in one of the FB Fiat Spider groups before it went to a closed group (and I had no interest in even checking in after that). It's amazing this guy is still out there shilling his own auctions. The man has no shame. Add summer2gether to his list of aliases. https://www.ebay.com/itm/...

Re: Wheeler Dealers Fiat 124 spider

+1 on the thanks. I gave up on these scripted shows with the made up drama years ago, but these two (despite the accents) were a joy to watch. A couple of lines had me laughing out loud.

Re: 1972 Fiat 124 Sport Coupe

Is this Tom Dotter's old Coupe? Beautiful job you've done on it. If it had the 1756 I would be even more tempted than I already have, but having experienced the torque of the larger motors it would be hard for me to go back to the smaller ones (even though the 1608 loves to rev).

Re: Lifting 124 with rear suspension hanging

Not an old wives tale. I had two different sets of NOS OEM rears freeze in the full extended position after only briefly being up in the air. Never had that problem with other shocks. Don't know what the cause is, although I have a vague recollection of KD @ WC Motors commenting on it years ago.

Re: 2019 the last year for the Fiat 500 in the U.S.

How much longer until the Spider follows? I'm here in the land of the convertible and I rarely see them (and we even have a dealer in town - tucked into a little lot as far off auto row as you can get). They actually show 9 in stock at the moment, which is more than I've seen before. But alas, only ...

Can you support on the lower A arm enough to safely disconnect the ball joint and install the new one without everything going SPROING!!!! thanks in advance Yes. No need to mess with either t...

Re: Lowering Springs, Dog Tracking, Adjustable Panhard

There's theory, and then there's practical. While installing lowering springs would theoretically change the position of the rear axle, from a practical standpoint you would have to change the height a dramatic amount to notice a perceptible change. I've lowered both of my Spiders and never noticed ...
