Re: Valve Tolerances Make No Sense after Head Gasket

I think there is something that you are not telling us?? Why would you have to change the cam box gaskets when replacing the head gasket. Did you have the head machined and they also re-cut the valve seats??

Re: 2019 Race#1 -Waterford Hills, MI

Jim, yes I am running the atb diff (Torsen type). I have been running this diff for the last three years, best investment ever! One interesting thing to note, with only running 4th gear I only ran 1.8secs slower than my fastest lap from last year. The new track does have better grip, as there was 6 ...

Re: Speedo Drive and Internal Drive Gear

No need to cut them open, just measure the number of turns of the input gear VS the output Shaft? Jim, do you have three different ones in that photo?

For those who run IDF's - Pump the pedal 3-4 times, feather the throttle for a minute or two to get the car to idle. That's what make driving these cars so much fun!

Re: timing belt off by half tooth

James, changing the timing belt is fairly easy on the Subi, Did this on my sons car not too long ago. I recommend the kit that Oak's sells. Don't get the blue belt as they have a shorter life than the standard belt for some reason. Do you have a WRX? I assume it is the same for the non Turbo??? http...

Re: Making a solid transmission mount

No! Do not solid mount the trans or engine. You will end up with a broken transmission bell housing or trans case. The engine and trans needs to move together plus the unibody flexes and will put to much stress on a solid mounted trans or engine. I am sure Jim will chime in here with some personal e...

Re: Front Spindle Question.

The 132 spindles are not going to solve your issue. As they only effect the upper control arm angle. You do get a better camber gain with the 132’s but you need to go back to the original springs or move the lower control arm pick up point upward. This all has to do with the roll center dropping wel...
